Jacob Bowman to Abraham Field - Shepherdsville Lot 31

By 1841, Jacob Bowman and Abraham Field jointly owned Shepherdsville lots 31, 45 and 46, and decided to dissolve their partnership by splitting their holdings. Abraham Field received lot 31 as shown below, and Jacob Bowman received lots 45 and 46.

This indenture made this fifth day of March in the year of our Lord 1841 between Jacob Bowman and Pamelia his wife of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the one part and Abraham Field of the same county and state of the other part.

Witnesseth that whereas said Field and Bowman owned and held in partnership lots &c in the new plan of the town of Shepherdsville Nos. 31 and 45 and 46, and have agreed to divide and have divided the same, and the lot and appurtenances No. 31 is assigned to and to be conveyed to Field, and the other two lots Nos. 45 & 46 are to be conveyed to said Bowman.

Now in consideration of the premises and the sum of one dollar by said Field to said Bowman in hand paid, they the said Jacob Bowman and Pamelia his wife have sold, and by these presents do sell and convey unto him the said Abraham Field and to his heirs and assigns forever the following lot of land No. 31 and its appurtenances in the new plan of the town of Shepherdsville, together with all and singular the appurtenances to the same belonging or is any wise appertaining.

To have and to hold the said lot of land No. 31 and its appurtenances unto him the said Abraham Field and to his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Jacob Bowman for himself, his heirs &c does hereby covenant and agree to and with the said Abraham Field and his heirs or assigns that he the said Jacob Bowman will and his heirs, executors and administrators shall warrant and forever defend the title to said lot of ground No. 31 and its appurtenances unto him the said Abraham Field and to his heirs and assigns forever against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatever. In testimony whereof the said Jacob Bowman and Pamelia his wife have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and date first herein written.
