William Jewell purchased lot 28 of the new plan of Shepherdsville on 2 Aug 1814, and held it until 22 Sep 1818, when he and his wife Arethusa sold the brick house standing on it to the president and directors of the Bank of Shepherdsville. He then sold the remainder of the lot to John J. Thomason on 24 Mar 1819. Thomason then sold the lot to Henry Oldham on 3 Jun 1819, who next sold it to Samuel Oldham as shown below.

This indenture of bargain and sale made and entered into this first day of October 1819 by and between Henry Oldham of Bullitt County, State of Kentucky of the one part, and Samuel Oldham of Jefferson County and state aforesaid of the other part.
Witnesseth that said Henry Oldham for and in consideration of the sum of $2000 Kentucky currency to him in hand paid by the said Samuel Oldham, the full receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath this day granted, sold and aliened and by these presents doth grant, sell and alien and confirm unto the said Samuel Oldham and his heirs and assigns forever a certain lot or parcel of ground in the town of Shepherdsville in Bullitt County and state of Kentucky known in the new plan of said town by the number 28 containing 1/2 acre together with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging or appertaining except the brick house now occupied as a bank and the particular ground on which the said house stands.
To have and to hold the said lot of ground situate as aforesaid except as before excepted and all, and every singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or appertaining to the only use and behoof of the said Samuel Oldham, his heirs and assigns forever; and the said Henry Oldham for himself and his heirs doth covenant with the said Samuel Oldham, his heirs and assigns, that the said Henry Oldham will forever warrant and defend the title of the said lot of ground, except as before excepted, to the said Samuel Oldham, his heirs and assigns free from the claim or claims of any person claiming by, through or under him and free from the claim or claims of all and every person whatsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same. In testimony whereof the said Henry Oldham hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written. [signed by grantor]
