On 13 May 1797, Paul Froman sold 653 acres of his 938 acre tract on the waters of Long Lick Creek to Leven Wilcoxon. Part of it bordered the land of Weathers King as shown in the shaded area on this drawing. Almost immediately, Wilcoxon sold 542 acres of this tract to Archibald Magruder and William Maquess.

This indenture made this 13th day of May in the year of our Lord 1797 between Paul Froman and Mary his wife of the county of Nelson and State of Kentucky of the one part and Leven Wilcoxon of Bullitt County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Paul Froman and Mary his wife for and in consideration of the sum of eighty-seven pounds current money of the state aforesaid to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and the said Paul Froman and Mary his wife forever exonerate have bargained and sold, aliened, released, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do bargain, sell, alien, release, convey and confirm unto the said Leven Wilcoxon, his heirs and assigned forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being on the waters of Long Lick Creek in Bullitt County and State aforesaid and bounded as follows, viz. Beginning at the end of the first line of the said Froman's 938 acres tract at two white oaks, a dogwood and locust thence South 85° West 320 poles to two white oaks in the knobs, thence North 5° West 412 poles to Weathers King's third line, reversing the said line South 50° East 233 poles to a poplar and black gum on the south side of a branch, thence North 40° East 221 poles on the said King's second line, reversing said line till it strikes the first line of the said Froman's 938 acres tract thence South 5° East 409 poles on the first line of the said survey to the beginning, to have and to hold the said 653 acres of land with all and singular the appurtenances to the said Leven Wilcoxon, his heirs and assigns to his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever, and the said Paul Froman and Mary his wife to and with the said Leven Wilcoxon, his heirs and assigns, do covenant and agree that they will warrant and defend the said 653 acres of land with all and singular the appurtenances aforesaid unto the said Leven Wilcoxon, his heirs and assigns forever from the claim or demand of all persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof the said Paul Froman and Mary his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year aforesaid. (signed) Paul Froman.
