Abraham Field and George W. Jenkins - Division of Shepherdsville Lot 55

Benjamin Summers and George W. Jenkins had jointly purchased Shepherdsville lot #55 from Edward and Elizabeth Crow on 7 Aug 1824. Then Summers sold his share of the lot to Abraham Field. Field and Jenkins later divided the lot between them as shown below. Jenkins would sell his part to Alonzo S. Burleigh in 1851.

This indenture made and entered into this 28th day of April in the year of our Lord 1830 between Abraham Field of the one part and George W. Jenkins of the other part, both of the County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky.

Witnesseth that whereas the said Field and Jenkins are the joint owners of Lot No. 55 in the new plan of the town of Shepherdsville, now they have agreed to divide the same in the manner following, to wit.

The said Jenkins is to have in his own right all that part of said lot that fronts Water Street and running back the whole width thereof 82 1/2 feet; and the said Field is to have as his own right the remaining portion thereof; each to have and to hold the said parts respectively herein described against the claim of the other, and all persons claiming or to claim the same by, through, from or under them or either of them, this being by them considered and agreed to be a fair and equal division of the said lot and the improvements. Witness the hands and seals of the parties, date above. [signed by both parties]
