Henry F. Kalfus bought William Wilson's share of Lot 28 in 1853, and then Henry Turner Wilson's share in 1855. Then Henry F. Kalfus and Elizabeth his wife sold their title to lot 28 to Matilda Kalfus in September 1855.
On 25 Feb 1870, Matilda Kalfus sold the lot to Matilda A. Birkhead as shown below. Matilda Birkhead was the wife of Dr. Joseph F. Birkhead, and they were the parents of Elizabeth Virginia Birkhead who married Henry Frederick Kalfus Jr., son of Henry and Matilda Kalfus.
In 1876 an unusual deed was entered into by R. J. Meyler and Joseph F. Birkhead. In it Meyler deeded the lot containing the brick office to Birkhead who, in the same deed had transferred ownership of the lot to Meyler. It is unclear what was the purpose of this deed, which is shown below.
On 1 Sep 1879, Dr. Birkhead made a deal with D. M. Bates in which they swapped land with some cash consideration included. In the arrangement, Bates received the deed to lot 28.
