Shepherdsville Trustees to Christian James Saunders - Lot 10

Christian James Saunders apparently purchased this lot at the original lots sale, but did not receive a deed to it until 25 Jun 1819, as shown below. Then on 1 Jun 1827 he sold the lot to Noah C. Summers.

This indenture made this 25th day of June 1819 between James Alexander, John Graham and Charles Jones, trustees of the town of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County and state of Kentucky of the one part and Christian James Saunders of the same county and state of the other part

Witness that the said trustees for and in consideration of the following order of Adam Shepherd, proprietor of the couil[?] on which the town of Shepherdsville was laid off, to-wit: "Received of Christian James Saunders, previous to this date, full satisfaction for a certain lot purchased at the first sale at Shepherdsville. Therefore, I request the present trustees of said place to make said Saunders a lawful title to the lot number 29 or the lot that he appears to be entitled to from the books of the sale." January 24, 1798 (signed) Adam Shepherd.

And it appearing to said trustees from the list of sales of lots in said town that the said Christian James Saunders was purchaser of lot number 30 in the old plan and now known on the new plan of said town by the number 10, hath aliened, released, conveyed and confirmed, and by these presents do alien, release, convey and confirm, the said Christian James Saunders, his heirs &c the said lot of land with all the appurtenances thereto belonging.

To have and to hold the said lot of land with its appurtenances to the said Christian James Saunders, his heirs &c forever free and clear of and from the claim of the said Adam Shepherd and all persons claiming under him, the said trustees only conveying said Shepherd's right in conformity to the act of assembly establishing the town of Shepherdsville. In testimony whereof the said trustees have hereto set their hands and affixed their seals on the day and year first above written.
