This indenture made this 22nd day of April in the year of our Lord 1816 between James Alexander, Charles Jones, John Graham & James Halbert, trustees of the town of Shepherdsville of the one part and William Jones of the other part, all of Bullitt County and state of Kentucky.
Witnesseth that the said trustees, for and in consideration of the sum of seven pounds, five shillings paid to Adam Shepherd, the proprietor of the land on which said town was established whose receipt thereupon hath been acknowledged and certified, and by virtur of the act of assembly establishing said town &c, have bargained sold, aliened, released, conveyed and confirmed, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, alien, release, convey and confirm unto the said William Jones and his heirs forever a certain lot or parcel of land in said town, and known by its number in the first plan thereof 69, and in the second or new plan thereof number 36, and in the second sale of lots No. 28, and being the same on which George Huck[?] now lives, containing one half of an acre.
To have and to hold the said lot of land, together with all the improvements thereon and thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the said William Jones, his heirs and assigns to and for his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever. In witness whereof the said trustees have set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.
