It appears that William Graham had been living on this lot prior to the time of this sale, but was now in Shelby County when he received this deed from the trustees. A month later he sold it to John W. Beckwith and William F. Smith.

This indenture made this first day of April in the year of our Lord 1814 between John W. Beckwith, James Alexander, Joshua Novell, James Holbert and Frederic W. S. Grayson, trustees of Shepherdsville in the state of Kentucky of the one part and William Graham of the county of Shelby and state aforesaid of the other part.
Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of $10 current money of the United States of America in hand paid to Adam Shepherd on whose land said town was established by an act of assembly of the 11th December 1793 by virtue of the said act and of the several acts relative to towns and in pursuance of the following certificate.
To the trustees of Shepherdsville according to the application of William Graham I do certify that I have received the consideration for lot No. 52 in the present plan and No. 68 according to the old plan of Shepherdsville, to wit $10; and that you are authorized to make a deed to said Graham accordingly for said lot. (signed) Adam Shepherd.
The said trustees have given, granted, bargained, and sold, aliened, released, conveyed, and confirmed, and by these presents do give, grant, bargain and sell, alien, release, convey and confirm unto the said William Graham, the said lot in Shepherdsville known on the present plan thereof by its No. 52 and upon the old plan by No. 68, bounded southwardly by Water Street and eastwardly by Plumb Street, with its appurtenances, to have and to hold the said lot with its appurtenances to the said William Graham, his heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof the said trustees have hereunto set their hands and seals the date first above written.
