On 28 Jan 1818, Adam Shepherd sold 10 acres of the 600 acre survey of his father, Peter Shepherd, to George L. Robards. The part sold to Robards lay on the northeast corner of the main tract, as shown in this drawing. Robards would later sell the tract to Francis Maraman.

This indenture made and entered into this 28th day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighteen between Adam Shepherd of the County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky of the one part and George L. Robards of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Adam Shepherd for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars to him in hand paid, the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge, and thereupon doth hereby forever release and acquit this said George L. Robards, his heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, hath this day bargained and sold, and doth hereby bargain and sell, alien, enfeoff & confirm unto the said George L. Robards, his heirs and assigns, a certain piece or parcel of land lying on the south side of Salt River in the County and State aforesaid and bounded as follows, viz. Beginning at an elm on the south bank of Salt River on the line of Adam Shepherd's 600 acre survey, running with said line S 34° W, called 36° W, 66 2/3 poles to a small hickory, thence N 48° W 24 poles to a white oak and gum saplings, thence N 34° E, called N 36° E 66 2/3 poles to a sycamore on the bank of the river, then up the river S 38° E 24 poles to the beginning, containing ten acres of land.
To have and to hold the said piece or parcel of land free and clear of and from the claim or claims of the said Adam Shepherd, his heirs, executors, administrators, and from all others whatever claiming by, through or under him. And the said Adam Shepherd for himself and his heirs, executors and administrators doth hereby bind himself to warrant and forever defend the said ten acres of land to the said George L. Robards, his heirs, executors, and administrators against all persons whatsoever.
In testimony whereof the said Adam Shepherd hath hereto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and date above written. (signed) Adam Shepherd Signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of W. G. Wigginton, George F. Pope.
I James Halbert, clerk of Bullitt County Court in the State of Kentucky do certify that on this day Adam Shepherd, a party to the previous indenture of bargain and sale, personally before me acknowledged the same to be his act andd deed for the purposes therein mentioned. And that I have truly recorded the same indenture together with this certificate in my office as required by law. Given under my hand this 29th day of January 1818. (signed) James Halbert.
