On 15 Jun 1840, Sarah Shepherd deeded to her sister Charlotte Benthall her part of 266 acres deeded to them during the partition of Adam Shepherd's home tract. This deed provided that Charlotte would hold the land in trust for Sarah's nieces Sarah Shepherd Benthall, and Julia Monroe Neill. Charlotte would later allot part of this land to Samuel Neill, father of Julia Monroe Neill, as a life estate.
