On 12 June 1792, Jesse Rude's heirs sold his 400 acre patent to Adam Shepherd. As the land was still in Nelson County at that time, the deed is recorded there.

This indenture made this 12th day of June 1792 between Thompson Ashby, Maryan Deremiah, executrix of Jesse Rood of Nelson County and State of Kentucky of the one part and Adam Shepherd of the county and state aforesaid of the other part.
Witnesseth that the said Thompson and Maryann Deremiah in consideration of the sum of 400 pounds current money of Kentucky to him the said Ashby and Deremiah in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledge, have bargained and sold and by these presents doth give, grant, bargain and sell to the said Adam Shepherd a certain tract or parcel of land containing 400 acres by survey bearing date the 17th of January 1783, lying and being in the County of Nelson and bounded as followeth, to wit.
Beginning at two maples and gum standing on the west side of the Valley Road leading from Bullitt's Lick near the foot of a high knob on the west side of said road and about 3/4 of a mile from the Long Lick, and about six poles from the said road, running thence North 25° East 200 poles to a gum and small white oak, thence South 65° East 320 poles to three small beeches, South 25° West [two] hundred poles to a gum and beech, thence North 65° West 320 poles to the beginning.
To have and to hold the said tract of land with its appurtenances to the said Adam Shepherd and his heirs forever. And the said Thompson Ashby and Maryann Deremiah &c for themselves and their heirs do further covenant and agree to and with the said Adam Shepherd and his heirs that they will warrant forever and defend the aforesaid tract of land with its appurtenances to the said Adam Shepherd, his heirs &c against themselves and their heirs, and against every other person claiming under them, and also against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever. In witness whereof they the said Thompson Ashby & Maryann Deremiah have set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year above written. (signed by grantors)
