On 4 Jun 1817, William Pope Jr., Robert Breckenridge and Worden Pope sold to Jonathan Rowland this part of a tract they had purchased from Robert Shanklin in 1811. Rowland would sell it to Robert M. Smith the following August 1834.

This indenture made this fourth day of June 1817 between William Pope Jr., Robert Breckenridge and Worden Pope of Jefferson County and State of Kentucky of the one part and Jonathan Rowland of the county of Bullitt and state aforesaid of the other part.
Witnesseth that the said William Pope Jr., Robert Breckenridge and Worden Pope for and in consideration of the sum of $500 current money of said state to them in hand paid by the said Jonathan Rowland, the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell, alien, release, convey and confirm unto the said Jonathan Rowland and his heirs forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the said county of Bullitt on the waters of Brooks Run and Floyd's Fork and bounded as follows to-wit.
Beginning at an elm, walnut, mulberry on Shanklin's old line, running thence East 65 poles to a stake at the mouth of Robinson's lane, thence South 40 1/2 poles to two dogwoods and a beech trees, thence East 79 poles to an elm, oak and dogwood on the original lines of Shanklin's, thence with the said line South 150 poles to a beech and poplar on McDonald's line, West 140 1/2 poles to a walnut, redbud and ironwood trees, thence North 190 1/2 poles to the beginning, being part of a tract of land conveyed to the said William Pope Jr., Robert Breckenridge and Worden Pope by Robert Shanklin by deed being date the 15th day of November 1811 and recorded in the clerk's office of the Bullitt County Court, which land as before described contains by survey 151 1/2 acres, be the same more or less with its appurtenances.
To have and to hold the said tract of land as before described together with all and singular the advantages to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the said Jonathan Rowland, his heirs and assigns to and for his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever. And the said William Pope Jr., Robert Breckenridge and Worden Pope for themselves and their heirs do covenant, promise and agree to and with the said Jonathan Rowland that the before described 150 1/2 acres of land with the appurtenances they will and their heirs, executors, administrators will forever warrant and defend to him the said Jonathan Rowland and his heirs against the claims of themselves and their heirs and all other persons claiming under them or any of them, but not against any adverse claim. But should the said land be lost or taken by a prior or better claim, in that case the said William, Robert, and Worden are to refund to the said Jonathan the purchase money with interest.
