On 20 Jan 1872, John L. O'Brian sold 10 acres adjoining Shepherdsville to W. W. Zazio as shown below. Zazio would sell five acres of it to David M. Bates on 10 Mar 1879.

This deed made this 20th day of January 1872 by John L. O'Brian and America, his wife of the first part and W. W. Zazio of the second part, all of Bullitt County, Kentucky.
Witnesseth that the first parties for and in consideration of the sum of $700 in hand paid, and the receipt hereby acknowledged have this day and do here by grant, bargain, sell, convey and deliver unto the second party, the following tract of land and appurtenances, to wit.
A tract of ten acres of land situated, lying and being in Bullitt County, Kentucky, in or near the town of Shepherdsville adjoining the lands of Kalfus' heirs and the old Travis property now owned by W. J. McConathy and bounded as follows, to wit. For courses see Deed Book R, page 447.
Beginning at the northeastwardly corner of the tract now owned by Quirey and Tyler near and adjoining said town and with their line North 79° West 40 poles to a stake, thence with a line of a tract once owned by Simmons North 6 1/2° East 40 poles to a stake, thence South 79° East 40 poles to a stake, thence South 6 1/2° West 40 poles to the beginning.
And the same formerly sold by Adam Shepherd to William Jones, and by Jones to Gore, and by Gore to Wilson, and Wilson to Baker, Baker to Wilson, Wilson to F. Travis, Travis to Rickerson, Rickerson to Kooke, and Kooke to the first party.
And the first parties covenant to warrant the title to said tract of land and its appurtenances against all claims by general warranty. In testimony whereof the first party have hereunto set their hands and seals at Shepherdsville, Kentucky this day and date first written.
Possession of said land and houses to be given at the signing and sealing of this deed.
