Pias Metcalf to William T. Morrow - 127.5 Acres on Cedar Creek

On 27 Feb 1877, Wesley Phelps and wife sold 127.5 acres located on Cedar Creek, near the Little Flock church to Nathan Morrow. Morrow later sold the tract to Pias Metcalf. The next year Metcalf sold it to William T. Morrow, Nathan's brother, as shown below.


Bullitt County Deed Book 27, Pages 50-51

This deed made and entered into this 9th day of March 1888 between Pias Metcalf and Hattie Metcalf his wife, parties of the first part, and William T. Morrow, party of the second part, all of the City of Louisville, Kentucky.

Witnesseth that in consideration of the second party delivering up to first party three promissory notes of $636.43 each mentioned in a deed from Nathan Morrow to first party dated August 8th 1887 and assigned by said Nathan Morrow to second party, and the further consideration of the sum of $425 in cash, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the parties of the first part have bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant and convey unto the party of the second part, his heirs and assigns the following described land laying and being in the county of Bullitt, state of Kentucky on the waters of Cedar Creek and bounded as follows.

Beginning at the mouth of Whitledge's Spring Branch on Cedar Creek and running thence North 52° West 238 poles to a stake on a small ravine near the brick church (Little Flock), thence South 67 1/2° West 24 poles to a double Sycamore one part now cut off standing near the bank of Sanders' Run, thence down the run South 17° West 16 poles, thence South 60° West 12 1/2 poles, thence South 40° West 22.8 poles, thence South 70° East 10 poles to a stone on said run and claimed by Struthers as the corner, thence South 35° West 4 poles to a stake in Thomas Harden's old line, thence with the same South 54° East 224.8 poles to a stake and loose stone (5.2 poles from a beech Hardin's old corner), corner to Whitledge's 70 acres, thence with the same North 35° East 56 poles to the middle of Cedar Creek, thence up the same with the meanders South 83° East 24 1/2 poles, thence North 36° E 16 1/2 poles to the beginning containing 127 1/2 acres, and being the same property conveyed to Nathan Morrow by Wesley Phelps and wife on 27th February 1877 as per deed recorded in Deed Book V, pages 202-203, clerk's office, Bullitt County Court; and by said Nathan Morrow to first party by deed dated August 8th 1887, and also recorded in said clerk's office.

To have and to hold said land together with all the appurtenances thereto belonging unto the party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever with covenant of general warranty.
