Francis Maraman Heirs to G. W. Maraman - Multiple Tracts

On 21 Apr 1842, Francis Maraman, Wilford Walton Maraman, and Henry O. Maraman deeded their interests in the following tracts of land to their brother George W. Maraman. This land had belonged to their deceased father, Francis Maraman Sr.


Bullitt County Deed Book I, Pages 507-509

This indenture made and entered into this 21st day of April 1842 between Frances Maraman, Wilford Walton Maraman, and Henry O. Maraman of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the part and George W. Maraman of the county and state aforesaid of the other part.

Witness that the said Francis Maraman, Wilford Walton Maraman, Henry O. Maraman for and in consideration of a deed this day executed to the said Francis Maraman, and Henry O Maraman each by the said George W. Maraman, and in consideration of $1000 in hand paid to the said Wilford Walton Maraman by the said George W. Maraman, the receipt, whereof is hereby, acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents do bargain, sell, and convey unto the said George W. Mariman, the following tracts or parcels of land, that is all their right, title, claim and interest in the following tracts of land, being three-fourths, each owning one-fourth said lands lying in the county of Bullitt on the waters of Salt River and bounded as follows.

Beginning at an elm on the bank of Salt River at the West side of the mouth of the first branch before the lower ford, thence up the river with its meanders as follows South 87 1/2° East 16 poles, South 84° East 22 poles to the lower ford, South 73° East 26 poles, South 50° East 24 poles, South 42° East 40 poles, South 85° East 50 poles 17 links, North 64° East 30 poles, North 72° East 15 poles to a large .. said to be corner to Henderson's 100 acres, thence with Henderson's line South 10° .. (for South 10° East) 87 poles (for 90) to a white oak and hickory stump in the .. road said to be also a corner to Henderson's 100 acres, thence down said road South 77 1/2° West 41 poles to the sign post at the intersection of the Elizabethtown and Bardstown roads, corner to Henry O. Maraman's 605 acres, thence North 40 1/2° West 14 poles 20 links to a sweet gum stump in the road, corner to Charles Maraman's tract, thence with his line South 55 2/3° West (for 57 1/4°) 184 poles to a swamp oak and sweet gum, and said Charles Maraman's line, a corner to Francis Maraman's 738 acres, thence with said Francis Maraman's line to the beginning as follows: North 25° West about 18 poles to post at the corner of the fence, thence with the fence North 77° West 48 poles to a stake in the fence, thence North 43 1/2° East 89 poles to the large Spanish oak, North 14 1/2° West 56 poles to a beech with four prongs in a small branch, thence down said branch North 30° East 43 1/2 poles to a large beech on a road, thence North 9° East 21 poles 16 links to a large beech, thence North 12 1/2° West 19 poles to a beech, thence North 28° East 9 poles 17 links to the beginning.

Also all their right, title and claim in and to a tract of land lying in Bullitt County on Salt River containing 100 acres more or less conveyed to Francis Maraman dec'd by Elizabeth Henderson by deed dated 15th of September 1835, now of record in the clerk's office of the Bullitt County Court, Deed Book H, page 252 as by reference to said deed will more fully appear.

Also all their right, title and claim in and to a tract of land lying in Bullitt County on the north side of Salt River above the town of Shepherdsville, supposed to contain 70 acres more or less in all, conveyed to Francis Maraman dec'd by Mathew Wilson and wife and others, said last named tract consists of divers purchases of different persons, together with all and singular the appurtenances belonging to the said tracts or in any wise appertaining; they being part of the land devised to the said Francis Maraman, Wilford Walton Maraman, Henry O. Maraman and George W. Maraman by their father Francis Maraman dec'd.

To have and to hold the lands hereby conveyed with all their appurtenances unto the said George W. Maraman and his heirs and assigns forever.

And the said Francis Maraman, Wilford Walton Maraman, and Henry O. Maraman do hereby release and transfer their entire interest in the said tracts or parcels of land to the said George W. Maraman, and do severally and apart, and not jointly and for their respective heirs, executors and administrators the aforesaid tracts of land with their appurtenances unto th said George W. Maraman and his heirs and assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatever do and forever will warrant and defend by these presents, each one warranting to the extent of his interest for himself only.

In witness whereof the said Francis Maraman, Wilford Walton Maraman, and Henry O. Maraman together with Eliza Ann Maraman and Elmira Maraman, wives of the said Francis and Henry O. Maraman who hereby relinquish their right of dower in the lands hereby conveyed, have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and date first above written in this indenture.
