H. O. Maraman to R. J. Meyler - Mill Dam Property

H. O. Maraman had purchased this property from Wilhite Carpenter in 1868. He deeded his ownership of this Salt River bed, part of the forge tract, to R. J. Meyler on 3 Feb 1880. This included Shepherdsville lot #55, identified in the deed as "the first fraction of a lot at the junction of West and Water Street where the mill now stands."

This deed made 3rd February 1880 by H. O. Maraman and Elmira his wife of the first part, W. J. Maraman of the second part, and R. J. Meyler of the third part.

Witnesseth that in consideration of $976.97 with 10% interest from 14 October 1875, evidenced by note due by the first to third party which is hereby satisfied, they hereby convey and deliver to the third party all that realty lying in and near Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky beginning at the intersection of West and Water Streets on the west side of Water Street at Mrs. Holsclaw's old place and adjoining the third party, thence up Salt River including the first fraction of a lot at the junction of West and Water Street where the mill now stands to the old ferry and running after it leaves Shepherdsville limits with and adjoining John Korb's land to the old ferry landing, thence across to the south bank of Salt River and down the same to a point opposite the beginning, and thence across the river to the beginning, and running seven feet above low water mark on both sides of Salt River including the machinery in said mill of all kinds and character, and all belts and all saws and fixtures and shafting &c.

But the shingle machine and jointer is not conveyed, nor the engine or boiler.

The consideration to the second party for the machinery owned by him is $250 subject to a debt and interest held by the third party on the second party, and the difference is paid in money which settles all demands between the second and third party to this date.

State of Kentucky, Bullitt County Sct. I E. W. Hall, Clerk of the Bullitt County Court in the state of Kentucky, certify that on the third day of February 1880 the foregoing deed from H. O. Maraman &c to R. J. Meyler was produced to me in my county and acknowledged and delivered by H. O. Maraman and Elvira Maraman his wife and by W. J. Maraman, parties thereto, to be their act and deed, and on the seventh day of October 1880 it was lodged in my office and ordered to be recorded.
