Adam Shepherd signed a bond on 23 Feb 1798 to convey a deed to John Hugh for the northern one-third of what would be lot 57 in the new plan of Shepherdsville. This bond was passed from person to person, before coming to the hands of Thomas Joyce who finally obtained a deed to the ground on 10 Sep 1832. Less than five years later, on 9 Feb 1837, Joyce would sell it to Nathan Brammel as shown below.
Margaret Grapevine was a daughter of Nathan Brammel and his first wife, Zilpha Skinner. Following Nathan's death in 1843, Zilpha married Thomas Joyce in April 1859. Margaret and husband sold their share of her father's part of this lot back to her mother, Zilpha.
