John King to William King - 500 Acres

John Edward King and wife sold this tract to William King on 22 Aug 1797. The deed was recorded in Nelson County.

This indenture made this 22nd day of August 1797 between John E. King and Sally King his wife of the one part and William King of the other part. Witnesseth that the said John E. King and Sally his wife for and in consideration of the sum of five shillings to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge, hath given, granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents do give, grant, bargain and sell to the said William King a certain tract of land by patent situate in the county of Bullitt and bounded as follows to-wit.

Beginning at [A] William King's NW corner a black walnut, ash and sugar tree N 10° E 163 1/2 pole to [B] three dogwoods, N 80° W 140 poles to [C] two mulberrys and a buckeye, N 10° E 160 poles to [D] two sugar trees, N 80° W 177 poles to [E] walnut and two sugar trees, then S 10° W 323 poles to [F] two walnuts, S 80° E 317 poles to the beginning with its appurtenances.

To have and to hold the said tract of land containing 500 acres to the said William King & to his heirs forever. And the said John E. King and Sally King his wife do covenant and agree to and with the said William King and his heirs that they the said John and Sally will forever warrant and defend the said tract with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging to the said William and to his heirs forever from and against the claim of all and every person or persons whatever. In witness whereof they have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and date above written.
