Henry C Jones to Nelly Miles - Part of Shepherdsville Lot 58

John Collins bought this lot in 1797, and it came into the possession of Harmon Greathouse at Collins' death. Greathouse then sold it to Henry Jones who sold a portion of it to Nelly Miles as shown below.


Bullitt County Deed Book D, Pages 535-536

This indenture made this 10th day of May 1822 between Henry C. Jones and Eleanor Jones his wife of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the one part and Nelly Miles of the same county and state aforesaid of the other part.

Witnesseth that the said Henry C. Jones and Eleanor his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of $100 to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained and sold, and doth by these presents grant, bargain, and sell unto the said Nelly Miles 30 perches, be the same more or less, of ground, part of a certain lot of ground in the town of Shepherdsville known in the old plan of said town by No. 3 and in the new plan of said town by No. 58, and deeded from Harmon Greathouse to said Henry C. Jones, reference being had to said deed for the courses and distances of said lot; and the part of said lot this day conveyed by said Jones and wife to said Nelly Miles is bounded as follows: 33 feet in front adjoining Lemaster's lot on the alley and running 84 feet, 10 inches back containing 30 perches, be the same more or less.

To have and to hold the said parcel of ground with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said Nelly Miles, her heirs &c to her own proper use, benefit and behoof forever. And said Henry C. Jones and Eleanor Jones his wife and their heirs &c will forever warrant and defend the said parcel of ground with all its appurtenances to the sad Nellie Miles and her heirs &c against the claim or claims of all persons whatsoever.

In testimony whereof the said Henry C. Jones hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first written.
