On 17 Feb 1819, James Halbert sold Shepherdsville lot #9 to John Chaddic.

This indenture made this 17th day of February 1819 between James Halbert and Margaret his wife of the one part, county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the one part, and John Chaddic of the same county and state of the other part.
Witnesseth that the said James Halbert and Margaret his wife for and in consideration of the sum of $100 current money to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said John Chaddic and his heirs &c forever one half acre lot or parcel of ground in Shepherdsville known by its number in the first plan of said town 29, and in Shanks' plan thereof by the number 9, together with the appurtenances thereto belonging.
To have and to hold the said lot of land with the appurtenances unto the said John Chaddic and his heirs to and for his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever. And the said James Halbert and Margaret his wife for themselves and their heirs do covenant, promise and agree to and with the said John Chaddic and his heirs that the before described lot of land with the appurtenances they will and their heirs shall forever warrant and defend to him the said John Chaddic and his heirs against the claim of themselves and their heirs and all persons claiming by through from or under them. In witness whereof the said James Halbert and Margaret his wife have set their hands and seals the day and year first above written. (signed by them)
