On 13 Jan 1868, through a court action, Steven Kulp's part of lots 55 and 56 was sold to James B. English. Then on 23 Mar 1868, English sold it to Ann Ball and Mary E. Menifee as shown below.

This indenture made and entered into this 23rd day of March 1868, between James B. English and Maggie his wife of Bullitt County, Kentucky of the first part and Mrs. Ann Ball and Mary E. Menifee of same county and state.
Witnesseth that the first parties for and in consideration of the sum of $622.45 for which sum a not is this day executed by the second parties bearing interest from this date and due the 20th day of April 1868 and a lien retained to secure its payment, they the first parties have this day bargained and sold and hereby convey unto the second parties with covenant of general warranty and title fee simple, the following realty, to-wit: one house and lot and appurtenances in the town of Shepherdsville, Kentucky and formerly known as the old Abram Field house and lot and being part of lots Nos. 55 & 56 on the new plan of Shepherdsville and the same conveyed by H. Trunnell and wife to Stephen Kulp and sold by the sheriff of Bullitt County on the 18th day of November 1867 as he property of Stephen Kulp and purchased by the first party, reference is made to the deeds aforesaid for more particular description.
It is distinctly understood that the note aforesaid of $622.45 due 20th April 1868 is to be paid upon the first party executing to the second parties a bond of indemnity with good security securing the second parties from any lien that Cross and Gathright and Co. have on the property herein conveyed amounting to about $450.00 for which sum or thereabouts said Cross and Gathright & Co. claim to have a lien on the property aforesaid, said property having been sold under said Crosses and Gathright's and Co.'s executions and an execution in the name of J. B. English and purchased by said English and purchase bond executed by English with A. H. Field, security, to said Gathright and Co. & Cross.
