On 13 Jan 1868, through a court action, Steven Kulp's part of lots 55 and 56 was sold to J. B. English as shown below.

Whereas on the __ day of __ 1867 judgments were obtained in the Louisville Court of Common Pleas in the name of John Cross vs. Kulp & Collins and in the name of Gathright & Co. vs. Kulp & Collins and on the __ day of __ 1867 executions issued on said judgments No. 1965 & 1966 & were levied by me on one house & lot in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, known as the Abram Field house & lot, and in 1867 judgment was had in the Bullitt Circuit Court in the name of G. W. Crumbaugh vs. Stephen Kulp & J. B. English, English as security, and on the 14th September 1867 said English having aid off the execution No. 2383 from the Bullitt Circuit Court & had the same transferred to him & on same day I levied said execution No. 2383 on the said house & lot aforesaid, and on the 2nd of October 1867 Stephen Kulp & Angeline his wife having waived the benefit of the homestead exemption approved 10th February 1867 as to the debts of Cross & Gathright amounting to about $453.56 with interest & cost by proper acknowledgement before the clerk of the Bullitt County Court, and after advertising according to law & having the property aforesaid duly appraised at $600.00, I did on the 18th of November 1867 at the court house door in Shepherdsville on county court day sell the house and lot aforesaid under the aforesaid three executions and J. B. English being the highest and best bidder purchased the same at $605 and gave bond with A. H. Field security and said property selling for more than two thirds of the appraised value and there being no redemption now therefore this indenture witnesseth that I Wesley Phelps, sheriff of Bullitt, hereby bargain sell, convey and confirm unto J. B. English purchaser, the house and lot aforesaid known as the Abram Field house and lot and being part of lots 55 & 56 on the new plan of Shepherdsville and the same deeded by Henry Trunnell to Stephen Kulp by deed recorded in Deed Book P, page 518 and referred to.
To have and to hold said house and lot unto him the said J. B. English and his heirs and assigns forever, but without incurring any individual responsibility whatever. The purchase money of the house and lot understood that a lien is retained on the said house and lot to move effectually secure the payment of the bond given for the payment of said house and lot.
