Elizabeth Jane James to Otho B. James - Her part of 106 Acres

On 8 Jan 1849, Isaac Stallings sold this 106 acre tract on the waters of Floyd's Fork to Richard James. Following Richard's death, his daughter Elizabeth Jane sold her share to her brother Otho B. James as shown below.


Bullitt County Deed Book N, Pages 78-79

This indenture made the 17th day of March 1854 between Elizabeth Jane James of the first part and Otho B. James of the second part all of Bullitt County, Kentucky.

Witnesseth that the party of the first for the consideration of $15 cash in hand paid by the party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, she, the party of the first part, hath granted, bargained, and sold and doth by these presents grant, bargain and sell unto the party of the second part, his heirs and assigns all the undivided interest of the party of the first part as heir of Richard James dec'd, being one-seventh of a tract of land lying and being in Bullitt County on the waters of Floyd's Fork containing 106 acres more or less, and being the same tract of land conveyed by Isaac Stallings and wife to Richard James by deed bearing date the 8th day of January 1849 and recorded in Deed Book L, page 369; and all interest of the party of the first part in said tract is sold by this deed.

To have, and to hold, said one-seventh of said tract of land, be the same more or less, unto the party of the second part, his heirs and assigns against the claim of the party of the first part and her heirs and assigns, and no further.
