George & Hannah Beeler, & Elizabeth Stansbury to James J. Dozier

On 20 Jul 1821, Benjamin Stansbury deeded several parcels of land to his son-in-law and daughter George and Hannah Beeler, and his daughter Elizabeth Stansbury. The deed included six lots of ground of a half acre each in Shepherdsville. They included lots 13, 14, 15, 32, 38 and 53 under the town plat drawn by James Shanks.

On 20 Jul 1821, George, Hannah and Elizabeth sold lots 38 and 53 to John J. Dozier, as shown below. Dozier lost the two lots in Circuit Court suits when they were sold to Robert Shanklin and Richard P. Simmons to pay his debts.

This indenture of bargain and sale made and entered into this 20th day of July 1821 between George Beeler and Hannah Beeler, his wife, formerly Hannah Stansbury, of Jefferson County, Kentucky and Elizabeth Stansbury of Bullitt County, Kentucky of the first part and James J. Dozier of the county of Bullitt, Kentucky of the second part.

Witnesseth that the said George, Hannah and Elizabeth for and in consideration of the sum of $500 to them in hand paid, the full receipt of which is hereby, acknowledged, have granted, bargain, sold, aliened and confirmed, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, alien and confirm unto the said James J. Dozier and his heirs forever two lots of ground, situate, lying, and being in the town of Shepherdsville, Kentucky containing one-half acre each; known on the new plan of said town by the numbers 53 and 38.

To have, and to hold, the said two lots of ground as the same are particularly the designated in the deed the trustees of said town made to Benjamin Stansbury, which deed or deeds is recorded in the clerks office of the Bullitt County Court together with all the privileges and immunities thereunto belonging or appertaining to the said James J. Dozier and his heirs forever, to his and their only proper use and behoof. And the said George, Hannah and Elizabeth for themselves and their heirs do forever warrant and defend the aforesaid two lots of ground from themselves, their heirs and all and every person or persons whatever claiming or to claim the same. In testimony whereof the said George Beeler and Hannah Beeler and Elizabeth Stansbury have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year before written.
