Brookey Barker was selected as Shepherdsville Property Tax Collector for 1828, and in this document and another one he identifies lots and parts of lots that were sold for taxes.

This indenture made this 20th day of September 1828 between Brookey Barker, collector of the town tax of the town of Shepherdsville in the county of Bullitt and Commonwealth of Kentucky of the one part and John J. Thomasson and Noah C. Summers of the same place of the other part.
Witnesseth that whereas the town of Shepherdsville did by virtue of an Act of the General Assembly of this Commonwealth past in February 1808 levy a tax on the several lots and parts of lots and improvements thereon in said town, and on the owners and occupiers thereof; and thereafter regularly appoint Brookey Barker collector of the said taxes due for 1828.
And the said Barker, in pursuance of said appointment and the order of said trustees in presence of the law in such cases made and provided, did fully comply with all things as collector as aforesaid, and having as by the said trustees as the law required, done all things necessary and proper to be done, did regularly advertise certain of the lots and parts of lots and improvements thereon in said town for sale for the payment of the tax due thereon for 1828; the same not having been paid by the owners or occupiers thereof.
And on the 2nd day of August 1828 in pursuance to said advertisement, the said Barker did expose to public sald in market west the same, when the said John J. Thomasson and Noah C. Summers purchased the following whole lots and parts of lots and improvements thereon (a less quantity than the whole being first offered and no peson bidding) the whole was then sold for 60 cents, being the tax due thereon.
Whole lot No. 13, the property of Benjamin Stansbury for 9 cents being the amount of tax due thereon for 1828;
whole lot No. 14, the property of Benjamin Stansbury for 9 cents, being the tax due thereon as aforesaid;
whole lot No. 15, the property of Benjamin Stansbury for 9 cents, being the tax due thereon as aforesaid;
whole lot No. 29, the property of Benjamin Stansbury and Thomas Stansbury's heirs for 15 cents, being the tax due thereon as aforesaid;
whole lot No. 53, the property of Benjamin Stansbury for 30 cents, being the tax due as aforesaid;
whole lot No. 4, the property of Ezekiel Magruder for 15 cents, being the tax due thereon as aforesaid;
whole lot No. 20, the property of Ezekiel Magruder for 22 1/2 cents, being the tax due thereon as aforesaid;
whole lot No. 28, the property of Henry Oldham's children as invested in them by their grandfather Samuel Oldham for $2.60, being the tax due thereon as aforesaid;
whole lot No. 34, the property of Thomas C. Brashear and John W. Beckwith's heirs for 9 cents, being the tax due thereon as aforesaid;
whole lot No. 35, the property of Nathan Cochran for 15 cents, being the tax due thereon as aforesaid;
and of whole lot No. 50, the property of Thomas C. Brashear and Ignatius Brashear's heirs for 30 cents, being the tax due thereon as aforesaid.
All of which said amounts of taxes due on said lots the said collector was unable to collect of the owners or occupiers thereof.

And Thomasson and Summers likewise became the purchasers of the following described parts of lots and improvements as aforesaid.
That part of lot No. 58 in the new plan of said town sold as the property of Frederic Travis which is bounded by beginning at the west corner of a lot of 30 feet front of ground occupied by Weir Tilford and running westwardly from said lot binding on Water Street to the middle of the partition wall between the lot now describing and a lot of ground deeded by John M. Jones to Joseph Huston, thence northwardly with the partition wall a straight line to the back part of said lot and with the back line eastwardly to the line of the Tilford lot, and with the line of the Tilford lot to the beginning, which was sold for the sum of $2.00, being the tax due thereon as aforesaid.

Also purchased that part of said lot No. 58 as the property of Joseph Huston and William H. Pope bounded by beginning at the west corner of the west end of the two brick tenements built on said lot by Jones', running with the line of the two brick houses north to the backline of said lot, thence east with the original line of said lot to the west line of the lot sold by John M. Jones to Frederic Travis, and then with Travis' lot to Water Street, and then with Water Street to the beginning; which sold for $1.50, being the amount of tax due thereon as aforesaid; and also for the other part thereof adjoining and bounded as below.
Also the other part of said lot No. 58, as the property of Joseph Huston bounded by beginning at the west end of the two brick tenements aforesaid and running from the west end of said houses along the wall northwardly to the line of a small lot conveyed by Jones to N. Miles in trust for Eleanor Miles, thence westwardly with the original course of said lot to the original corner thereof, and then southwardly with the original line to Water Street and with Water Street to the beginning which sold for the amount of tax due thereon as aforesaid valued with the part lot above described.
Also they in like manner purchased that part of lot No. 57 in the new plan of said town bounded by beginning at the most southwardly corner of the original whole lot, running thence North 6 1/2° East 66 feet 3 2/3 inches to the corner of R. K. Simmons' lot, thence South 83 1/2° East 49 feet 8 1/2 inches to the corner of a lot owned by Joseph W. Caldwell, thence South 6 1/2° West 66 feet 2 2/3 inches to the corner of Caldwell's lot on Water Street, and thence with Water Street to the beginning, sold as the property of Joseph Huston for the sum of 90 cents, being the amount of tax due thereon as aforesaid.
Also they the said Thomasson and Summers became the purchasers of that lot owned by Eleanor Miles, now Eleanor Moore and her husband James W. Moore in said town, deeded by Jones as aforesaid containing 33 feet front adjoining Lemaster's lot on an alley, and running 84 feet, 10 inches back which sold for 60 cents, being the amount of tax accused unpaid thereon as aforesaid. Which said several amounts of taxes the said collector was unable to collect of the owners or occupiers thereof.
Now in consideration of the premises and the payments of the purchase money, being the amount of taxes due on said lot as aforesaid, I the said Brookey Barker, collector of the town tax aforesaid, have by virtue of the power vested in me by the said Acts of Assembly and the orders of said trustees of Shepherdsville sold and transferred and by these presents do sell and confirm and convey unto the said Thomasson and Summers and their heirs and assigns forever the several lots and parts of lots and improvements thereon as before recited and described; and I do and will as fully as by law I am authorized as collector aforesaid warrant and defend the same to them the said Summers and Thomasson, and to their heirs and assigns against the claim or claims of them the said Frederic Travis, Joseph Huston, William H. Pope, James W. Moore and Eleanor his wife, Benjamin Stansbury, Henry Oldham's children, Ezekiel Magruder, Thomas C. Brashear, John W. Beckwith's heirs, Ignatius Brashear's heirs, William Welch, Nathan Cochran, Thomas Stanbury's heirs and their heirs, electors, administrators and assigns, and those claiming by, from, through or under them or either of them, and against the claims of all others.
To have and to hold the same to them the said Thomasson and Summers forever, but in no event whatever am I to be held bound or responsible for title in case of loss of all or any part of said lots and improvements in my individual character.
