After Third Street was reduced from 80 to 40 feet wide, and new half-sized lots were added to the north, the trustees began selling them. They sold lot No. 88 to George W. Jenkins who later sold the lot to William Arnold. Arnold sold the lot to the Methodist Church Trustees in 1847, as shown below

This indenture made this 11th day of August 1847 between William Arnold and Mary Arnold his wife of Jefferson County and state of Kentucky of the one part, and William Chappell, Henry F. Kalfus, Robert Simmons, George L. Rogers and Charles Crenshaw of Bullitt County, state of Kentucky as trustees in trust for the purpose hereinafter mentioned of the other part.
Witnesseth that whereas William Arnold by his bond dated the 23rd January 1841 bound himself to pay to Oscar B Simmons for the sum of $1000 lot No. 88 in Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky on the plat of said town and parts of lots Nos. 41 & 42 in said town. The lot No. 88 has since the death of Oscar B Simmons been sold by his executor, according to his will to James S. Peuthers for six dollars, and by said Peuthers donated to the trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church South as appears by transfers and the said parts of lots No. 41 & 42 in said town has been sold by said executor to Lorenzo Hogland for the sum of $842, and the said bond of mine to said Simmons compelling me to make titles to the above named lots transferred to Lorenzo Hogland and James Peuthers by the executor of said O. B. Simmons to the said Hogland Lots No. 41 & 42 and to the said Peuthers Lot No. 88 and donated by the said Peuthers as above stated.
I the said William Arnold having received the purchase money in full for said lots. Wherefore in consideration of the above recited premises the said William Arnold and wife as aforesaid in consideration of the purchase money as aforesaid hath this ay sold, conveyed and do by these presents sell, convey and confirm unto them the said trustees and their successors in office forever a certain lot of ground in the town of Shepherdsville No. 88, being the same conveyed to said Arnold by George W. Jenkins and wife as follows, to-wit.
Beginning at the most southeastwardly corner on Main Street, running thence North 6 1/2° East 40 feet to the corner of Jacob Shawler's one acre lot, thence with said lot North 83 1/2° West 99'5" to a stake, thence South 6 1/2° West 40 feet to Third Street, thence 99'5" on Third Street on a straight line to the beginning.
And the said trustees have built a house of worship thereon for the use of the members of the Methodist Episcopal Church South, according to the rules of discipline which, from time to time, may be agreed upon by the conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church South. And in further trust that they shall at all times hereafter permit such ministers and preachers belonging to said Church to preach therein who are duly authorized by the said general conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church South. And thee said William Arnold and Mary Arnold his wife doth by their presents warrant and forever defend all and singular the before mentioned and described house and a lot with its appurtenances thereunto belonging unto them the said William Chappell, Henry F. Kalfus, Robert Simmons, George L. Rogers and Charles Crenshaw, trustees as aforesaid and their successors in office forever for the use and benefit of the members of the said Methodist Episcopal, Church, South and the church house when not wanted or occupied by them to all other evangelical orthodox Christian societies to preach in, from the claims of all persons whatever.
In testimony, where of the said William Arnold and Mary Arnold, his wife have here unto set their hands and seals the day and year aforesaid. It is clearly understood that the fee simple title to said a lot and appurtenances here sold and conveyed is in the trustees of the said methodist, Episcopal Church, South, and their successors in office forever, and the use of the house is only here given for the other denominations of Christians to preach in as aforesaid, but in no event is said privilege to effect the legal title to said lot and appurtenances in said trustees of said M.
