Troutman Bros to B. B. Ball - Shepherdsville Lots 39-40 - Part 5

In 1833, via a Circuit Court decree, William Jones as commissioner had deeded to Matthew Wilson, assignee of Joseph Bowman, a part of two Shepherdsville lots (#39 & #40) from the estate of James Brown deceased. This was following a court suit brought by Elizabeth Griffin against the Brown estate.

Thus began the line of ownership of this lot of ground in Shepherdsville that ran from Wilson to Elisha Simmons to to Abraham Field to R. J. Meyler to Margaret Givens to James Rooksby to Victor Bonnieville to J. W. Alexander to George Magruder to the Troutman brothers, who sold it to B. B. Ball, as shown below.

For and in consideration of the sum of $285, cash in hand paid, we H. F. Troutman, Rl L. Troutman and C. F. Troutman and Ada B. Troutman, wife of C. F. Troutman, have sold and do hereby convey and deliver to B. B. Ball of Shepherdsville, Ky., with covenant of general warranty the following described real estate in the town of Shepherdsville, County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky, a house and lot, beginning at the intersection of Main Street and an alley on the west side of Main Street opposite the old Hogland Hotel property, formerly the Eagle Hotel, thence West with said alley 200 feet to another alley, thence with said other alley north 40 1/2 feet more or less to the Coffee lot, now owned by J. A. Hoffman, thence with Hoffman's line east 200 feet to Main Street, thence with Main Street south 40 1/2 feet more or less to the place of beginning, being part of lots 39 and 40 of the original plan of Shepherdsville, Ky., and the same as conveyed to Troutman Bros by George Magruder and his wife Tillie K. Magruder by deed recorded in Deed Book No. 32, page 192 in Bullitt County Court Clerk's office and the same conveyed by J. W. Alexander to George Magruder.

To the said B. B. Ball to have and to hold forever. Witness the hands of the grantors this 16th March 1899. [signed by grantors]
