Richard Winn to Benjamin Summers - Multiple Tracts

On 8 Sep 1829, Richard Winn of Louisiana, son of the late Eleanor Beckwith Winn, sold his share of his grandfather John Beckwith's estate to Benjamin Summers. The deed is shown below.

This indenture made this eighth day of September 1829 between Richard Winn of the Parish of Rapids and State of Louisiana of the first part and Benjamin Summers of the County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky of the second part. Witness that, whereas John Beckwith deceased, late of said County of Bullitt, died seized and possessed of a certain tract of land in the said County called the Home tract containing 352 acres, be the same more or less; also 100 acres of land in said county purchased of Seth B. Thornberry, more or less; also 41 acres in said County, and the party of the first part being one of the heirs of the said decedent, being the only child of Eleanor Winn, late Eleanor Beckwith, wife of Richard Winn, both of whom are dead, he the said Richard Winn of the first part has sold to the said Benjamin Summers his entire interest and claim in and to the real estate of the said Beckwith as afore mentioned, now for and in consideration of the sum of $372 current money of the United States to the said Richard by the said Benjamin in hand paid and secured to be paid (one-half cash paid, the other half secured by the said Summer's note dated April 13, 1829) the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, he the said Richard Winn has sold and by these presents does sell and convey to him the said Benjamin Summers, his heirs and assigns, all the interest and claim of him the said Richard Winn in and to the whole of the real estate as aforesaid, whereof the said John Beckwith died seized and possessed. To have and to hold the same to him the said Summers and his heirs forever, free and clear from him the said Winn, his heirs and those claiming under him, but no others. In testimony whereof the said Richard Winn has here unto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and date above written in the town of Alexanderia, parish of Rapides, State of Louisiana.
