Matthew Wilson to Frederick Travis - 4 and 10 Acres

On 17 Dec 1846, Matthew Wilson sold two lots near Shepherdsville to Frederick Travis. One was ten acres and the other 4 acres.


Bullitt County Deed Book L, Pages 71-72

This indenture made this 17th day of December 1846 between Matthew Wilson and Martha T. Wilson his wife of Bullitt County and State of Kentucky of one part, and Frederick Travis of Shepherdsville, same county and state of the second part.

Witnesseth that said Matthew Wilson and wife for and in consideration of the sum of $80 payable as follows, viz. $20 payable in three months and the balance in one, two and three years, all interest from date till paid, notes this day executed for same, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, they the said Matthew Wilson and wife have hereby sold and conveyed and by these presents do sell, convey and confirm unto him the said Frederick Travis and to his heirs and assigns forever two certain tracts of land or lots of land in Bullitt County near Shepherdsville: one lot containing ten acres, being the same lot of ground adjoining the lot of said Travis and the same lot conveyed to said M. Wilson by deed from J. H. Baker by commissioner dated the 13th October 1845 and recorded in Deed Book K, page 446, reference thereto will show; and the other lot is the undivided half of a four acre lot on the road to Louisville and said 4 acre lot is opposite Kalfus' property and lays next to and adjoining the old Mockbee lot, and the same lot sold and conveyed to said M. Wilson by Benjamin Summers Esquire by deed dated 20 July 1845, recorded in Deed Book K, page 418, reference to said deed Bullitt County office will more particularly point out the lots.

To have to to hold said two lots of land and appurtenances here sold unto said Frederick Travis and to his heirs forever. And said M. Wilson and wife covenant and agree to and with said Frederick Travis to warrant and forever defend the said two lots of land and appurtenances here sold unto said Travis and to his heirs and assigns forever against the claims of all persons whatever. Witness the hands and seals of the grantors the date aforesaid.
