James H. Wigginton deeded a lot to the trustees of school district 26 on 12 Feb 1873 for a school site. As Wigginton lived east of Mt. Washinton along the road to Shelbyville, the school site would have been there.
The school house shown on this excerpt from a T. C. Carroll plat is likely the one described in this deed. The deed is transcribed below.
Bullitt County Deed Book T, Pages 245-246
Know all men by these presents that I James H. Wigginton and Melvina E. his wife, Bullitt County, Kentucky, have this 12th day of February 1873 sold all of our right, title and interest in and to a certain piece of land in the county and state aforesaid to the district number 26 of common school for the consideration of $25 to them in hand paid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, lying on the east side of the Shelbyville Road and bounded as follows.
Beginning at a white oak corner between the said Wigginton and David Coe, thence with Coe's line north 80 yards to the east edge of said road, thence southwest to a small hickory 98 yards, thence east 51 yards to the beginning.
When a school fails to be taught as a common district school on the said land, the same is refunded back to my heirs. The said Wigginton will forever warrant and defend all claims against the same. In witness whereof we have set our hands and seals this day above mentioned. (signed) James H. Wigginton, Melvina E. Wigginton.
