Bullitt County Deed Book G, Pages 286-287
This indenture made this 27th day of June 1831 between William Welch of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the one part and Robert F. Samuels of the same county and state of the other part.
Witnesseth that the said William Welch for and in consideration of the sum of $44.29 1/2 current money to him in hand paid before the signing and delivery hereof, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, and sold, and by these presents, doth grant, bargain, and sell, alien, release, convey and confirm unto the said Robert F. Samuels, his heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land, situate, lying, and being on Knob Creek in Bullitt County containing 190 1/4 acres, being the same tract of land on which said William Welch now lives, and a part of John Riley's 7000 and odd acre survey, and being part or half of a certain tract of 390 1/2 acres willed by Mary Forker to William Welch and Samuel Welch.
To have and to hold the tract or parcel of land and appurtenances unto the said Robert F. Samuels, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, and to his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever; warranting and defending the said tract or parcel of land and appurtenances from the claim or claims of all and every person or persons; provided nevertheless and these presents are on this condition that whereas the said Robert F. Samuels has this day become the security of the said William Welch in a replevin bond as follows, to-wit: One for $44.29 1/2 with interest from this date payable on the 27th day of September 1831 to Moses Hoagland.
Now if the said William Welch shall well and truly pay the amount of said replevin bond without default and shall in all things keep the said Robert F. Samuels, his heirs &c safe and harmless from the payment of said debt or damages or costs in consequence of said securityship, then these presents shall cease and become utterly null and void, and the land hereby conveyed shall be reconveyed to said William Welch, his heirs &c by the said Robert F. Samuels, his heirs &c, anything herein contained to the contrary notwithstanding.
In witness whereof the said William Welch hereto sets his hand and seal the day and year before written. (signed) William Welch
