Thomasson & Summers to Joseph W. Caldwell - Part of Shepherdsville Lot 58

On 8 Nov 1832 John J. Thomasson and Noah C. Summers sold their share of Shepherdsville lot 58 to Joseph W. Caldwell as shown below.

This indenture made this 8th day of November 1832 between John J. Thomasson and Noah C. Summers and Margaret C. Summers his wife of Bullitt County and State of Kentucky of one part and Joseph W. Caldwell of the same place of the other part.

Witnesseth that the said Thomasson and Summers and wife for and in consideration of the sum of $80 to them paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said Caldwell the following lot or lots of ground or parcels of land in Bullitt County and town of Shepherdsville known in the new plan thereof as parts of lots No. 58, bounded thus:

Beginning at the west corner of the west end of the two brick tenements built thereon by Jones, running with the line of the brick house, north to the back line of said lot, thence East with the original line of said lot to the west line of the lot now owned by Rodolphus Bukey, then with the line of Bukey's lot to Water Street and then to the beginning.

The other part of said lot is bounded thus. Beginning at the west end of the said brick house the said beginning of the said lot and running thence northwardly to the line of the lot now owned by Wilford Lee, thence westwardly to the original line and corner of said lot No. 58, thence to the original corner of said lot on Water Street, thence to the beginning with the appurtenances.

To have and to hold the said lots or parts of lots aforesaid unto said Joseph W. Caldwell and his heirs forever unto him the said Caldwell and his heirs and assigns against the claims of them said Thomasson and Summers and wife and those claiming under them. Said Caldwell is fully appraised of the nature of the title of said grantors and it is the express understanding of the parties that if the lots of ground here sold are ever lost by any other title whatever, that said Thomasson and Summers and wife are not to be held responsible in any event whatever. They only sell and convey by quit claim deed. Witness the hands and seals of the grantors.
