On 5 Jul 1805, Thomas Purcell deeded 400 acres to his son John Purcell located on the waters of Crooked Creek. He also deeded his personal possessions to his son Isaac Purcell as shown on another page.

This indenture made this fifth day of July in the year of our Lord 1805 between Thomas Purcell of the County of Bullitt and Commonwealth of Kentucky of the one part and John Purcell of the same county and Commonwealth of the other part.
Witnesseth that the said Thomas Purcell for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar current money of the United States of America to me in hand paid before ethe sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, and for and upon the natural love and affection which he bears to the said John Purcell who is his son, hath given granted, bargained and sold, aliened, released, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth give grant bargain and sell, alien, release, convey and confirm unto the said John Purcell a certain tract or parcel of land containing 400 acres lying and being on Crooked Creek, a branch of Fox Creek which empties into the Rolling Fork of Salt River and in the county of Bullitt, bounded as follows.
Beginning at a dogwood and three maples on the west side of Richard Morton's survey, running thence North 10° West with said line 253 poles to a corner, two beech trees and an ash, thence South 80° West 253 poles to a corner, two hickories and a beech, thence South 10° East 253 poles to a corner, two white oaks on the north side of a high knob, thence North 80° East 253 poles to the beginning with its appurtenances and heriditiments thereunto belonging unto the said John Purcell, his heirs and assigns to his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever.
And the said Thomas Purcell for himself, his heirs, executors and administrators doth further covenant and agree to and with the said John Purcell, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns that he will warrant and defend the aforesaid 400 acres of land with its appurtenances unto the said John Purcell, his heirs and assigns forever against him the said Thomas Purcell, his heirs and assigns, and against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons claiming by, through, from or under him, but not against the claim or claims of any other person or persons whatsoever.
