Jonathan Gore Jr. to John J. Thompson - Part of Shepherdsville Lot 23

On 29 Nov 1827 Jonathan Gore Jr. sold a part of the southern half of Shepherdsville lot #23 to John J. Thompson, as shown in the deed transcription below.

This indenture made this 29th day of November 1827 between Jonathan Gore Jr. and Moriah, his wife of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the one part, and John J. Thompson of the same county and state of the other part. Witnesseth that said Jonathan Gore Jr. and Moriah, his wife, for, and in consideration of the sum of $45 to them in hand paid before the sealing and delivery hereof, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell, alien, release, convey and confirm unto the said John J. Thompson, his heirs &c the following described part of a certain lot lying in and being a part of the town of Shepherdsville and known and designated on the new plan of said town by the number 23, to wit, beginning at the southwest corner of said lot No. 23, thence with a line of School alley North 6 1/2° East 73 feet to a stone at the southwest corner of William Caldwell's stable, thence South 83 1/2° East 39 feet, 5 inches to a stone thence South 6 1/2° West 73 feet to a stone on Main Cross Street, thence with a line of said street North 83 1/2° West 39 feet, 5 inches to the beginning.

To have and to hold the said described and bounded part of Lot #23 with the appurtenances thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto his the said John J. Thompson, his heirs &c free and clear of and from all right and title of dower or other encumbrances, and to his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever, and the said Jonathan Gore Jr. and Moriah his wife for themselves, their heirs &c do covenant and agree to and with the said John J. Thompson, his heirs &c that the will and their heirs shall warrant and forever defend the said described part of Lot # 23 and appurtenances unto him the said John J. Thompson, his heirs &c from themselves and all and every person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim the same. In testimony whereof the said Jonathan Gore Jr. and Moriah his wife hereunto set their hands and seals on the day and year before written. (signed) Jonathan Gore Jr., Moriah Gore.
