On 19 Mar 1829, Jonathan Gore Jr. sold a part of the southern half of Shepherdsville Lot #23 to Rufus K. Summers. It lay along the dividing line between Lots 23 and 24, and fronted along what was then called Main Cross Street, adjoining the tracts previously sold to Joseph R. Murray and John J. Thomasson.

This indenture made this 19th day of March 1829 between Jonathan Gore Jr. and Moriah, his wife of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the one part and Rufus K. Summers of the same county and state of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Jonathan Gore Jr. and Moriah, his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of $72 current money of the United States to them in hand paid before the sealing and delivery hereof, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell, alien, release, convey and confirm unto the said Rufus K. Summers, his heirs, executors and administrators, the following described and bounded part of lot number 23 situate lying and being in and a part of the town of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky.
Beginning at a stone in a line of Main Cross Street, being the southeast corner of that part of said Lot number 23, which was conveyed by Gore and wife to Joseph R. Murray, thence with said Murray's line South 6 1/2° East 25 feet to a stone another of said Murray's corners thence with another of said Murray's lines North 83 1/2° West 37 feet to a stone, another of said Murray's corners in a line of that part of said lot number 23, which was conveyed by said Gore and wife to John J Thomason thence with said Thomsson's line North 6 1/2° East 48 feet to said Thomason's northeast corner at a stone, thence South 83 1/2° East 7 inches to a stone thence North 6 1/2° East 26 feet, 5 inches to a stone, thence South 83 1/2° East 59 feet 5 inches to a stone on the line dividing Lots # 23 and 24, thence with said line South 6 1/2° West 99 feet, 5 inches to a stone, being the southeast corner of said lot number 23, thence with the line of Main Cross Street North 83 1/2° West 23 feet to the beginning.
To have and to hold the said described and bounded part of lot number 23 with the appurtenances thereto belonging unto him the said Rufus K. Summers, his heirs, executors and administrators, and to his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever. And the said Jonathan Gore Jr. and Moriah his wife for themselves, their heirs, executors and administrators do covenant and agree to and with the said Rufus K. Summers that they will and their heirs &c shall warrant and forever defend te said described part of said lot and appurtenances unto him the said Rufus K. Summers, his heirs &c from themselves and their heirs and from the claim or claims of all and every person or persons claiming or to claim the same. In testimony whereof the said Jonathan Gore Jr. and Moriah his wife hereto set their hands and seals on the day and year before written. (signed) Jonathan Gore Jr., Moriah Gore.
