On 1 Oct 1824, Jonathan Gore Jr. deeded part of Shepherdsville lot #23 to James Simpson and John Morrow in return for goods and services they were to provide him. the specific location is described in the deed transcription below.


Bullitt County Deed Book E, Page 277

Whereas I have this day sold unto James Simpson and John Morrow a part of the lot number 23 on the new plan of the town of Shepherdsville including the shop now occupied by the said Simpson and Morrow, and which part of said lot is designated and bounded as follows, to wit.

Beginning at the southwest corner of said lot on School Alley, thence North 75 feet, 5 inches to a stake, thence eastwardly the course of the town lots 39 feet, 5 inches to a stake, thence southwardly the course of said lots 75 feet, 5 inches to a stake on Second Street, thence with said street 35 feet, 5 inches to the beginning, for and in consideration of $100 payable in notes, good accounts and tailor's work as expressed in their notes to me. Now this shall bind and obligate me, my heirs &c to convey or cause to be conveyed to the said James Simpson and John Morrow, their heirs &c the above described parcel of ground whenever the said Simpson and Morrow shall make payment in full for the same. Witness my hand and seal this 1st day of October 1824. (signed) Jonathan Gore Jr.
