Adam Shepherd to Jacob Sholler & George Shock - Lots 87-88

In August 1797, Adam Shepherd sold the equivalent of two Shepherdsville town lots to Jacob Sholler and George Shock. At this time Third Street was 80 feet wide and the town ended on its northern edge. Apparently Shepherd, and perhaps the town trustees, already thought of extending the town northward and numbering the new lots beginning with 81 and up, for in this deed he identified the lots he was selling as numbers 87 and 88, and placed them north of lots 27 and 28, later numbered 7 and 8. We have not yet determined what what became of Sholler and Shock's claim to this ground.
