On 22 Sep 1799, Adam Shepherd and Armsted Morehead sold 52 acres along Long Lick Creek to Richard Bibb. They agreed that if Bibb lost the land to the claim of Benjamin Frye they would compensate him for the loss.

This indenture made the twenty second day of September in the year of Christ one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine between Adam Shepherd and Rachel his wife and Armsted Morehead of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the one part and Richard Bibb of the said county and state of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Adam Shepherd and Rachel his wife and the said Armsted Morehead in consideration of one hundred and fifteen pounds of lawful money of the Commonwealth to them in hand paid by the said Richard Bibb at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have bargained and sold, and by these present do and each of them doth bargain and sell unto the said Richard Bibb his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land lying in the county aforesaid adjoining the lands of John Essary, Benjamin Frye and Henry Crist and bounded as followeth.
Beginning at a large poplar southwestwardly corner to John Essary and two beeches, thence with Essary's line North five degrees West 118 poles to a large beech, thence South 76 West 84 poles to a stake in said Bibb's meadow, thence South 14 East 106 poles to a beech in Frye's line, thence North 85 E 66 poles to the beginning, containing fifty two and one half acres, more or less, together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining with the reversion and reversions, remainder or remainding issues or profits.
To have and to hold the said fifty two and one half acres of land more or less with the tenements hereditaments and all and singular the premises herein before mentioned and every part and parcel thereof unto the saith Richard Bibb his heirs and assigns forever to and for the only proper use of him the said Richard Bibb his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Adam Shepherd and Rachel his wife and Armsted Morehead for themselves and their heirs the said land and premises before mentioned, unto the said Richard Bibb, his heirs and assigns free from the claim or claims of them the said Adam Shepherd and Rachel his wife and from the said Armstead Morehead or either of them, their or either of their heirs, and of all and every person or persons whatsoever shall, will and do warrant and forever defend by these presents.
But the said Adam and Rachel do except to a general warrantee against the claim of Benjamin Frye of one thousand acres which includes the said fifty two and one half acres. If the said Benjamin shall recover the said fifty two and one half acres or any part thereof then the said Adam is to refund for the land so recovered at twenty eight shillings per acre with legal interest thereon to the said Richard Bibb his heirs or assigns. Bullitt County Sct I Thomas Speed, clerk of the county court for the county aforesaid, do certify that this indenture was acknowledged severally before me by the parties thereto subscribed to be their act and deed, that is Adam Shepherd on the 21st day of September, Armstead Morehead on the 12th day of Octoer and by Rachel Shepherd on the 31st day of October in the year 1799, and that the said Rachel Shepherd relinquished her right of doweer3 to the land within mentioned as the law directs.
