Randolph Railey and Others to Isaac Collins, 23 Oct 1820

This transaction was for 126 acres located near the site of the future Crooked Creek Furnace. The Collins heirs appear to have sold it to John H. Baker, although no deed has been yet located.

This indenture made this 23rd day of October 1820 by and between Randolph Raily and Jacob Swigrit by William G. Wigginton, attorney in fact, and William G. Wigginton of the one part and Isaac Collins of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of $25 to us in hand paid, we have bargained and sold and do hereby bargain and sell to the said Isaac Collins a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky and bounded as follows, viz.

Beginning at Ray's & Merton's corner, thence running East with Hart's line to Hart's corner, thence 14 poles on the same course past Hart's corner to two white oaks and a poplar on a branch, thence South running to join Merton's corner, thence this different courses with Merton's line to the beginning, containing 126 acres, be the same more or less, which lies upon the waters of Crooked Creek in Bullitt County.

To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land to the said Collins, his heirs and assigns forever, free and clear from the claim of us and our heirs forever, and no other person whatever. And it is understood that if the said Collins shall lose said land by any superior claim then we are to refund he purchase money with legal interest from the 25th November 1819.
