Alfred Quick to Isaac & John C. Hornbeck - 1/8 Part of 410 Acres

On 10 Feb 1837, Alfred and Susan Quick sold her share of her late father's land to her brothers Isaac and John C. Hornbeck, as shown below.

This indenture made this 10th day of February in the year 1837 between Alfred Quick and Susan his wife, late Susan Hornbeck, of the one part, and Isaac Hornbeck and John C. Hornbeck of the second part, all of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky.

Witnesseth for the consideration of the sum of $300 by said Hornbecks to the said Quick in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, they the said Quick and wife have bargained and sold, and by these presents, doth bargain and sell, alien, release, convey and confirm unto the said Hornbeck one undivided eighth part of a certain tract or parcel of land, situate, lying, and being in the said county of Bullitt on the waters of Brooks Run and Floyd's Fork of Salt River, containing about 410 acres, be the same more or less, and being the same of which Samuel Hornbeck died seized and possessed including the tract purchased at sheriff's sale by the said Samuel Hornbeck, which was sold on the property of John Hornbeck, the whole being now considered as one tract on which the said Samuel lived at his death, the metes and bounds of which may be ascertained by reference to a deed from Edward Williams to Isaac Hornbeck, the grandfather of the said Isaac and John C. and the said Susan and the said land descended to the said Susan and her brother and sisters at the death of the said Samuel Hornbeck.

To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land unto them, the said Isaac and John C. Hornbeck, their heirs &c against the claim or claims of the said Quick and wife forever. And the said Quick and wife for themselves, their heirs &c hereby covenant to and with the said Hornbecks that they will forever warrant and defend the said undivided eighth part of tract of land to them the said Isaac and John C. Hornbeck, their heirs &c against the claim or claims of them and their heirs, and all and every person or a person claiming under them, and also against the claim or claims of any other person or persons whatsoever. In witness whereof the said Quick and wife have here to set their hands and seals this day above.
