Nancy Pratt to Joseph H. Wright - 8.5 Acres

On 24 Oct 1864, Nancy Pratt sold 8.5 acres to Joseph H. Wright that adjoined his farm south of Mt. Washington.

This indenture made and entered into this 24th of October 1864 between Nancy Pratt of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the first part and Joseph H. Wright of the county and state aforesaid of the second part.

Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of $297.50 in hand paid, the said Nancy Pratt has this day bargained and sold, and by these presens does bargain and sell unto the said Wright a certain tract or parcel of land situate and lying in county of Bullitt and adjoining the farm of J. H. Wright's and bounded as follows.

Beginning at a stake in the line of John Harman's heirs 2 poles from the corner, thence with Harman's line, North 17 3/4° East 65 1/2 poles to an elm and sugar tree sapling on the top of a bluff bank in Joseph H. Wright's line (Harman's corner), thence with Wright's line South 18 3/4° East for 20° 152 poles to a stake, formerly two sycamores, thence South 8° for 6 1/2° West 22 1/2 poles to a stake, division corner to Catharine Clark, thence with her line North 75° West 34 1/2 poles the beginning containing 8 1/2 acres.

To have and to hold the above described tract of land together with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging, the said Nancy Pratt unto the said J. H. Wright, his heirs and assigns forever against the clause or claims of any and all persons whatsoever claiming, day and date above written. (signed) Nancy [her x mark] Pratt
