On 17 Apr 1813, William Pope, Worden Pope and Robert Breckinridge sold an uncertain number of acres to Peter Smith that lay on the waters of Cedar Creek, a tributary of Floyd's Fork. The deed is transcribed below.

This indenture made the 17th day of April in the year of our Lord, 1813 between William Pope Jr. and Cynthia his wife, Worden Pope, and Elizabeth his wife, Robert Breckinridge of the county of Jefferson, and Commonwealth of Kentucky of the one part and Peter Smith of the county of Bullitt and Commonwealth aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Popes and their wives aforesaid and Robert Breckinridge for and in consideration of the sum of $750 to them in hand paid before the sealing and delivery hereof, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have given, granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do give, grant, bargain and sell, alien, release, convey and confirm until the said Peter Smith, him, his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being in the County of Bullitt on the waters of Cedar Creek and bounded as followeth, to wit.
Beginning at three dogwood trees standing in a line of the original and running thence North 35° East 166 poles to an ash, beech and poplar standing in a dividing line between Samuel Thornberry and Francis Thornberry, thence North 55° West 156 poles to three hickory saplings, thence South 35° West 52 poles to a black walnut, white walnut and ash, thence North 55° West 54 poles to a sugar tree and small forked beech, also a black gum and small elm trees, northeast corner of Thomas Hardin's 400 acre survey, thence with said Hardin's line South 35° West 114 poles to two beeches marked S T, thence South 55° East 210 poles to the beginning.
To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said Peter Smith, his heirs and assigns to his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever, and the said Popes and wives and Breckinridge for themselves and their heirs, executors, administrators and assigns do covenant, promise and agree to and with the said Peter Smith, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns that they will forever warrant and defend the said tract or parcel of land with all and singular the appurtenances unto the said Peter Smith, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns against them the said Popes and wives and Breckinridge, their heirs, executors, administrators and the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever. In witness whereof the said William Pope and wife, and Worden Pope and wife, and Robert Breckinridge have hereunto set their hands and seals this day and date above written.
