Pope to Jones, Kinnison & Congrove - His Interest in Christian's Two Tracts

On 31 Oct 1832, William Pope deeded to William Jones, Alonzo C. Kinnison, and William Congrove his interest in William Christian's two tracts, the 1000 acre survey containing Bullitt's Lick, and the adjoining 2000 acre tract, in exchange for $1200 to be paid in seven annual installments.

This indenture made this 31st day of October 1832 between William Pope of the county of Jefferson and state of Kentucky of the one part, and William Jones, Alonzo C. Kinnison, and William Congrove of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the other part.

Witness that the said William Pope for an in consideration of the sum of $1200 current money of the United States payable in seven equal annual installments for which the said William Jones, Alonzo C. Kinnison, and William Congrove have executed seven notes payable as aforesaid and for the interest on each instrument payable yearly, hath granted, bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant, bargain, and sell, alien, release, convey, and confirm unto the said William Jones, Alonzo C. Kinnison, and William Congrove, all the right, title, interest, and claim of him, the said William Pope, being 2/5 and 2/3 of 1/5 of in and to a certain tract or parcel of land, situate lying and being on the north side of Salt River in Bullitt County, being Christian's survey of 1000 acres, which includes Bullitt Lick, but which survey is supposed to contain 1350 acres agreeably to a survey made by General Robert Breckenridge.

Also, all the right, title and interest of the said William Pope, being 2/5 and 2/3 of 1/5 of in and to William Christian's survey of 2000 acres of land on the north side of Salt River and adjoining said Christian's 1000 acre survey including Bullitt's Lick as aforesaid; for the boundaries of which 2000 acre survey reference is made to the original survey made by said Breckinridge.

To have and to hold all the right, title and interest of said Williams of N and two they said two tracks are parcels of land and appurtenances unto them the said William Jones, Alonzo C. Kinnison, and William Congrove, their heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, and to their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever. And they said William Pope covenants with the said William Jones, Alonzo C. Kinnison, and William Congrove, that he will and his heirs and executors shall warrant and forever defend they said interest in the 1000 acre survey but supposed to contain 1350 acres to them they said William Jones, Alonzo C. Kinnison, and William Congrove, their heirs, executors, administrators and assigns from the claim or claims of all persons whomsoever. But should any part of said interest and said tract be taken away from the said William Jones, Alonzo C. Kinnison, and William Congrove, their heirs &c, by a better claim, the said William Pope finds himself, his heirs, executors and administrators to refund the purchase money without interest for the parts so lost or taken away.

And as to the interest hereby conveyed in the 2000 acre survey, the said William Pope only conveys the same by quit claim without warranty of any kind except against himself and his heirs.
