On 9 Nov 1840, Absolom Polly (aka Paulley) sold his wife's one-third share of her father's 130 acre estate To Thomas Stallings as shown below. It appears that in exchange, Stallings sold approximately 33 acres on Floyd's Fork to Polly for the same amount. This second tract appears to lay in the bend of the Fork just upstream from a long straight run as shown on the drawing below.
Bullitt County Deed Book I, Pages 345-346
This indenture made and entered into the ninth day of November 1840 between Absolum Polly of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the one part and Thomas Stallings of the county and state aforesaid of the other part.
Witnessed that the said Polly for and in consideration of $270 lawful money of the United States to him in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, and sold unto the said Thomas Stallings his undivided interest of a tract of land conveyed by the heirs of Richard James Sr. dec'd to said Thomas Stallings, Susan James, and Harriet James, now Harriet Polly and wife of said Polly, and is supposed to be about 1/3 of said tract of land, and reference is made to say deed for a more full description of said land.
And the said Polly hereby agrees and covenants to warrant and defend said third or undivided interest from the claim or claims of all and every person claiming or to claim the same in any manner whatever. And the said Harriet Polly relinquishes her right of dower in and to said land. And said Absolum Polly together with Harriet Polly his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals this day and date first above written.
