Samuel Peter to Henry O. Maraman - Land Tract

On 31 Mar 1834, Francis Maraman sold a tract of land lying south of Salt River, a part of a tract purchased by Maraman from William Pope, to Samuel Peter. Peter would later sell the land to Henry O. Maraman, as shown below.


Bullitt County Deed Book I, Pages 524-525

This denture made this 21st day of June 1842 between Samuel L. Peter of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the one part and Henry O. Maraman of the county and state aforesaid of the other part.

Witnesseth that the said, Samuel L. Peter, for an in consideration of the sum of $500, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, has given, granted, bargained, and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell, convey and confirm unto him the said Henry O. Maraman, a certain tract or parcel of land, situate lying and being in the county of Bullitt on the south side of Salt River, and being the same tract of land conveyed by Francis Maraman Sr. dec'd to said Peter on the 31st day of March 1834 and now of record in the clerk's office of the county court of Bullitt in Deed book H, page 56, reference being thereto had will more appear, and bounded as follows to wit.

Beginning at Charles Maraman's corner on the Rocky Branch where the main road from Shepherdsville to Elizabethtown crosses said branch, thence with the line of said Maraman South 69° West 200 poles more or less to a stake in Brends and Honey's line, to their corner, thence South 15° East 263 poles to two small pines, Bowman's corner, thence with Bowman's line North 25° East to a stake on the west side of the main road and where said Bowman's line crosses said road, thence with the meanders of said road to the beginning.

To have to and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto him the said Henry O. Maraman and to his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Samuel L. Peter for himself, his heirs, executors and administrators convenants and agrees that he will and his heirs shall forever warrant and defend the title to said land against the claim of him said Peter and his heirs, and all and every person or persons lawfully claiming by, from, through or under them or either of them to the said Maraman, his heirs and assigns forever. In testimony whereof the said Samuel L. Peter has hereto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and date first above written. (signed) Samuel L. Peter
