In 1806, Benjamin Neale of Bourbon County deeded 750 acres (colored aqua on this drawing) of his 1000 acre tract located north of Salt River to Gabriel, George and Charles Mothershead, his sons-in-law. The remainder (colored yellow on this drawing) of the 1000 acre tract was earlier deeded to William Pope, who had located the tract for him.

This indenture made this __ day of __ in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and six between Benjamin Neal of the county of Bourbon and state of Kentucky of the one part and Gabriel, George and Charles Mothershead of the state aforesaid the other part. Witnesseth the said Benjamin Neal doth hereby give, set over, and deliver unto the said Gabriel, George and Charles Mothershead his sons in law one certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county of Bullitt & on Salt River, being the ballance of one thousand acres of an entry made in the name of the said Benjamin Neal located by William Pope, and the said Pope to have two hundred and fifty acres the ballance or residue seven hundred and fifty acres I do hereby grant all my right, title, interest, claim or demand either in law or in equity to the said Gabriel, George and Charles Mothershead to their own proper use and behoof forever, and I do hereby covenant and agree to and with the said Gabriel, George and Charles Mothershead that I the said Benjamin Neal will forever warrant and defend the hereby granted seven hundred and fifty acres of land against the claim or claims of any person or persons claiming under me whatsoever that is by virtue of my claim or entry. Bullitt County to wit
I the Deputy Clerk of the County Court of said County do hereby certify & make known that on the eighteenth day of October last, Samuel Meek, Beson Lovelace, & James Fidler subscribing witnesses to the foregoing indenture personally before me made oath under form of law that Benjamin Neal, a party thereto in their presence acknowledged the same to be his voluntary act and deed, and that I have recorded the said indenture in the Clerk's office of the said Court as required by law.
