John Mooney to Malinda Samuels - Part of Lot 25

On 27 Jun 1866, John Mooney sold his share of lot 25 to Malinda Samuels, widow of Robert F. Samuels, as shown below.

This indenture made and entered into this 27th day of June 1866 by and between John Mooney and Hannah L. Mooney his wife of Bullitt County, Kentucky of the first part, and Malinda Samuels, widow of R. F. Samuels dec'd, of the same county and state of the second part.

Witnesseth that said parties of the first part for and in consideration of $500 cash in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged by said John Mooney, have this day bargained and sold and by these presents do convey to the party of the second part and to her heirs and assigns forever by this deed of general warranty the following house and a lot in Shepherdsville, Bullitt County to-wit: the office, lot and house formerly owned by R. H. Field, and bounded as follows:

Beginning at a point 39 feet, 4 inches from the northwest corner of the clerk's office of the Bullitt County and Circuit Courts, running thence with Main Street 83 feet, 4 inches to the corner of Joseph Collier's lot, thence east with said Collier's line 85 feet, 3 inches to lot now owned by A. H. Field thence south with said Field's line 84 feet to E. H. McCormick's line, thence in a direct line west to the beginning; and being the same house and lot conveyed to said John Mooney by commissioner deed dated 18th day of April 1866, and made by order of the Bullitt Circuit Court, and recorded in Deed Book Q, pages 302-303, Bullitt County Court Clerk's office.

To have and to hold said before described house and lot to her the said Malinda Samuels forever. In witness whereof the said parties of the first part have heretofore set their hands and seals the day and date first above written. (signed) John Mooney, Hannah (her x mark) Mooney
