George Miles to John Rickerson - Four Shepherdsville Lots

In 1848, George Miles sold four Shepherdsville lots (17, 18, 19 & 33) to John Rickerson. According to this deed, Miles obtained these lots from the heirs of Richard P. Simmons.

This indenture made this 15th day of November 1848 between George W. Miles and Minerva B. Miles his wife of the County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky of the one part, and John Rickerson of same place of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Miles and wife for and in consideration of the sum of $82.50 in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, they the said George W. Miles and wife have sold and conveyed and by these presents do sell and convey unto him the said John Rickerson and to his heir and assigns forever the following lots of ground in the town of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky, being numbers 17, 18, 19 and 33 in the new plan of the town of Shepherdsville containing one half acre each, being the same lots conveyed to said George W. Miles by deed dated the 12th of October 1846 from Richard P. Simmons' heirs by commissioner recorded in deed book L, page 28 of the Bullitt County Court office with the appurtenances to the said lots belonging or in any wise appertaining.

To have and to hold the said lots Nos. 17, 18, 19 & 33 and appurtenances unto him the said John Rickerson and to his heirs and assigns forever. And they the said George W. Miles and wife for themselves, their heirs &c hereby covenant and agree to and with the said John Rickerson, his heirs &c that the said Miles and wife wil and their heirs shall warrant and forever defend the said lots and appurtenances unto him the said John Rickerson and to his heirs and assigns against the claims of all persons whatever by this deed in fee simple with general warranty.
