Clement McDaniel to Colley McDaniel - 300 Acres

Clement McDaniel of Virginia had this 300 acres surveyed by Samuel Smyth in 1793 and received a deed to it from Kentucky in June 1796. He then sold it to Colley McDaniel on 2 Oct 1797, as shown below.

This indenture made this second day of October in the year of our Lord 1797 between Clement McDaniel of the County of Pittsylvania and State of Virginia on the one part and Colley McDaniel of the County of Nelson and State of Kentucky of the other part.

Witnesseth that the said Clement McDaniel for the consideration of the sum of 150 pounds current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said Colley McDaniel, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents doth hereby grant, bargain, sell, alien, release and confirm unto him the said Colley McDaniel a certain tract or parcel of land containing 300 acres lying and being in the county of Nelson on Crooked Creek, a branch of the Rolling Fork of Salt River, and bounded as follows, to wit.

Beginning at two beech trees near the foot of the knobs on the south side ofsaid creek, running thence N 25° W 200 poles to a beech, ash and dogwood, thence S 65° W 240 poles to two beech trees, thence S 25° E 200 poles to two white oaks, thence N 65° E 240 poles to the beginning.

To have and to hold all and singular the above described premises with the appurtenances and every part and parcel thereof to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Colley McDaniel, him his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns forever. And the said Clement McDaniel the said bargained premises with the appurtenances and every part thereof unto him the said Colley McDaniel, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns against the claim of him the said Clement McDaniel, his heirs, executors and administrators, and against the claim of all and every other person or persons whatsoever, shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
