Elijah McCubbins to George Yeast - Part of 200 Acres

In December 1892, Elijah McCubbins sold the former Pine Tavern tract to George M. Yeast. He had purchased it the previous July from Wilhite Carpenter.

Bullitt County Deed Book 35, Pages 426-427

This deed made and entered into this 16th day of December 1902 by and between Elijah McCubbins and Mary McCubbins his wife of the first part and G. M Yeast of the second part, all of Bullitt County, Kentucky.

Witness that the first party for and in consideration of the sum of $500 paid and to be paid as follows: $100 paid cash in hand, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, and one note for $100 due and payable in one year from date, one note for $100 due and payable two years from date, one note due and payable three years from date, and one note due and payable four years from date, a lien is hereby retained on the land herein conveyed, have this day sold and conveyed to the party of the second part, his heirs and assigns the following described as follows, a tract of land in Bullitt County and bounded as follows, viz.

On the south side of Salt River, beginning at two white oaks in Mackey's line, thence North 30° West 246 poles to a white oak and poplar, thence South 53° West 133 poles to a stake, thence South 30° East 246 poles to a stake in Mackey's line, thence with Mackey's line North 53° East 133 poles to the beginning containing 200 acres more or less.

Out of the above boundary is excluded and not conveyed a parcel of 20 acres more or less, viz: Beginning at a pine and white oak on a knob, thence down the knob S 71° W 133 poles across the road from Shepherdsville to Elizabethtown near a branch to two white oak and a chestnut oak in the back line of John Carr's old survey, the same land conveyed to the first party by Wilhite Carpenter and wife by deed of July 11th 1892 and recorded in Deed Book No. 35, page __, Bullitt County Clerk's office.

The following described parcel of land is excluded from the original boundary and not herein conveyed, it having been sold and conveyed by the first party to George Noe.

Beginning at a stone in the west side of county road and at the northeast corner of Goodrich's land, thence with his line West 31 poles to corner on hickory sapling, thence North 15 poles to 3 chestnut oaks, thence East 28 3/4 poles along a road known as Dave Brown and J. M. Carpenter Road, thence with said county road 12 poles to the beginning.

Also George Noe is to have the well on the east side of said county road about 50 yards from the beginning corner.

It is agreed and understood that the grave yard of about one half acre and situated just back of the old site where the old Pine Tavern stood. Also passway to and from said grave yard is also reserved.

To have and to hold the above described land unto the said second party, his heirs and assigns forever with covenant of general warranty.
